Goldschläger is a cinnamon liqueur that is known for its gold leaf flakes floating about in the bottle. The name Goldschläger refers to the gold flake makers, who pounded bars of gold into wafer-thin sheets. This Swiss-cinnamon schnapps rose in popularity in the 90's by those drawn in by the gold flakes. For this coffee, we infused a washed Catuai from Guatemala with this cinnamon spirit to impart the spicy notes into the beans. We find this one to be especially prominent in the aroma of the freshly ground beans or right out of the brewer!
