Chicago Seemed Wired Last Night (The Hold Steady Blend)

"We mix our own mythologies. We push them out through pa systems.
We dictate our doxologies and try to get sleeping kids to sit up and listen.
I'm not saying we could save you.
But we could put you in a place where you could save yourself.
If you don't get born again at least you'll get high as hell..."

The Hold Steady is a band that should lay on the tip of every American's tongue when talking about authentic rock & roll. There's a nod to Springsteen, The Band and other American musicians who put thick, lyric based songs together that simultaneously make you think and scream at the top of your lungs with excitement.  The quote from their 2005 song title, "Chicago Seemed Tired Last Night" speaks to their need to both create and play epic rock anthems from their souls.

This blend was created in conjunction with the band and their show at The Empty Bottle, celebrating the venue's historic 25th anniversary. The coffee combines
an amazing Salvadorian natural with a washed Catuai for a soft, clean brew with a bit of fruit on the finish. We particularly love the body on this one as it sits very silky on the palate. We are humbled that the band digs coffee enough to include us in this project.
